Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus: He, who had always been God by nature, humbled Himself to the point of death, even death on the cross. To this you were called, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example: who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness - by whose stripes you were healed. If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me. He who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me. He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for My sake will find it. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel's will save it.
We who live are always delivered to death for Jesus' sake.
For Your sake we are killed all day long, we are accounted as sheep to be slaughtered,
always carrying about in our bodies the dying of the Lord Jesus.
Our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin. For he who has died has been freed from sin. For the death that He died He died to sin once for all.
We died to sin.
As many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death. We were buried with Him through baptism into death. Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin.
Therefore I beseech you brethren, by the mercies of God, to present yourselves living sacrifices, holy and acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.
God forbid that I should boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.
