News: I went apple-picking with the (homeschool) senior class (at my church-for those of you who aren't Crossway people :-)) yesterday, which was fun, and made a little video- we're thinking of videoing every time, so that at the end of the year we can have a fun video to show at (our homeschool) graduation
Nugget: (Read Habbakuk 3 to understand this-and actually, read the whole book while you're at it; it's not very long and is, I think, one of the most intriguing of the minor prophets)
Almost the entire chapter is devoted to proclaiming God's majesty- His wrath, holiness, splendour, majesty, greatness, power... but don't miss v. 13. Why does God go forth in *awesomeness? For our salvation. Praise Him!
*Awesome both in the modern and the archaic senses, but especially the archaic sense of "awe inspiring"

I have been strawberry picking, but not apple picking--is it any different? And do you get to climb the apple tree? ^_^
Praise the Lord! He has done so much for our sake. I love the descriptions Habakkuk uses: "Was your anger against the rivers, or your indignation against the sea, when you rode on your horses, on your chariot of salvation? You stripped the sheath from your bow, calling for may arrows. You split the earth with rivers. The mountains saw you and writhed; the raging waters swept on; the deep gave forth its voice; it lifted its hands on high." It keeps going(both in earlier and later verses)--but it just sends a chill down my spine--such awful and terrible power(both meant in the archaic use--full of awe, and fear inspiring)! And all for our sake? It boggles the mind. Praise the Lord, for He is mighty to save! ^_^
